China to stage 7th int'l SME fair in Sept

Beijing - The 7th China International Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Fair would take place in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province, from Sept 15-18, a senior official said in Beijing Wednesday.

Domestic and overseas firms from home appliance, energy saving,environmental protection, machinery, toy, textile, food and other sectors would showcase their products and services at about 5,000 booths during the four-day fair, Zhu Hongren, chief engineer of China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, told reporters at a press conference Wednesday.

Launched by the Chinese government in 2004 to promote SMEs' development, the fair has become a platform for the enterprises to enhance international exchanges and cooperation.
