Low carbon conference held in Nanchang

The First World Low Carbon and Eco-economy Conference and Technical Exposition was held in Nanchang, capital of Jiangxi province to promote the development of a low carbon economy in China.

The conference's aim was to review the past achievements of the world's development in low-carbon and eco-economy and establish an important platform for participants to exchange views and cooperate, Chinese state councilor Liu Yandong said in a letter to the conference.

Liu called for a concerted effort to encourage innovation and accelerate the research and application of low-carbon technology.

The local government is seeking cooperation opportunities with businesses from home and abroad to develop the low carbon industry, Su Rong, party chief of Jiangxi province, also said at the conference.
