The country's daily power generation increased 28.49 percent year- on-year to 8.235 billion kilowatts between February 12 and February 18.

The center attributed the power generation increase to low temperatures as well as increasing residential and commercial power use on the back of an economic recovery nationwide.

Spring Festival, or Chinese Lunar New Year, fell on February 14 this year. It is the most important Chinese traditional festival.
