Chinese stock market lags among BRICs

The Chinese stock market has rebounded due to the country's economic upturn, but its performance still ranks in the bottom among BRIC economies, the four fast-growing developing countries including Brazil, Russia, India and China, the Oriental Morning Post reported today.

China's benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 25 percent in the second quarter.

But during the same period, yields from Russian, Brazilian and Indian markets grew 36 percent, 50 percent and 60 percent respectively, under Morgan Stanley's calculation method.
