Brokers' commission up 55% in July

Financial brokers' commissions jumped to 18.97 billion yuan ($2.78 billion) in July, up 55 percent month-on-month, as transaction of stocks, funds and warrants hit a record high of 7.74 trillion yuan that month.

The Shanghai Securities News reported the information, quoting Gildata, a Shanghai-based financial data provider.

Gildata also said that brokers' total commission collected in the first seven months totaled 78.73 billion yuan, 16.4 percent more than the 67.65 billion yuan in commissions the industry collected in the full year of 2008.
