Car accident 'not part of work injury'

People injured in a car accident while traveling to or from work will not be covered by the work injury insurance, a draft rule said on Friday.

The draft, posted on the State Council's website, said the change is in line with international practice.

A survey on a portal website Friday afternoon showed that 78.06 percent of the 5,593 respondents believe an "injury suffered from the collision involving motor vehicles on the way between home and office" is in fact work-related injury.
