China UnionPay joins hands with Vietnamese bank network

China UnionPay, the largest bank card organization in China, joined hands with Vietnamese major bank card network Banknetvn in Hanoi on Friday to expand UnionPay card service in Vietnam.

Following the new cooperation, the UnionPay card will be accepted at 90 percent of the automatic teller machines (ATM) across Vietnam, said Cai Jianbo, first executive vice president of China UnionPay at a ceremony.

Banknetvn, short for Vietnam National Financial Switching JointStock Company, has about 6,000 ATMs in Vietnam.

China UnionPay, first entering Vietnam in 2005, has been enhancing its experience in Vietnam in the past years. It has facilitated the travel and businesses of UnionPay card holders in Vietnam.
