Chinese mainland uses less investment from Macao in Q1

Chinese mainland used $90 million of investment from Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) in the first quarter, down 56.9 percent from the same period last year, the Ministry of Commerce said in Beijing Tuesday.

Chinese mainland approved 78 projects involving investment from Macao SAR in January-March period, down 21.2 percent from the same period last year, the ministry said.

The mainland approved 12,066 projects involving $8.32 billion of investment from Macao by the end of March, the ministry said.

Trade topped $480 million between the mainland and Macao during January-March period, down 23.9 percent year on year, the ministry said.
