Banks urged to set up special cells for SMEs

China's banking regulator on Wednesday urged all domestic banks to set up special departments to better serve the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The banks are expected to finish the work before the second quarter.

Wang Zhaoxing, vice-chairman, China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC), said: "It is also necessary for the banks to set up special teams to serve the SMEs."
