Commerce ministry eases FDI rules

The Ministry of Commerce announced on Thursday that it has extended the authority to approve more foreign investment projects to provincial governments.

According to the new rules, foreign investment with a registered capital valued below $100 million only needs approval from local commerce authorities, rather than the ministry in Beijing, it said in a circular on its website.
