China and the US signed an exchange of letters on issues about "validated end-users" on Tuesday, indicating further cooperation between the two countries in the hi-tech sector, the Ministry of Commerce said on its website.

According to the system, US exporters who have been authorized as Validated End-Users, or VEU, can export specific products for both military and civil use to importers also authorized with VEU directly without getting export licenses.

The VEU system can help enterprises lower operation costs and is good for bilateral trade of hi-tech products, the ministry said.
