The May 12 earthquake in Sichuan has claimed almost 70,000 lives and caused billions of yuan losses.

While millions of people are trying to rebuild their lives, officials say the reconstruction process may take as many as eight years.

Sichuan has received over 57 billions of yuan in aid and one of the groups helping with reconstruction is the World Bank.

In late June, the World Bank held a workshop in Beijing, where international experts in quake impact assessment and post-quake reconstruction spoke with reporters from Chian Daily.

Here are excerpts of their conversations.
