China's largest software outsourcing firm, Neusoft Corp, said on Wednesday it was looking to acquire a company, possibly in Japan or Europe, to help its embedded software unit sustain its 40-50 percent annual growth.

"We are in talks with several companies. This year we may make a deal," said Liu Jiren, the founder and chairman.

"We are trying to invest more outside of China, especially in Japan and Europe," he said.

Outsourcing is currently the larger part of Neusoft's business, but the unit which designs software for television sets, autos and games consoles is growing faster.

Liu said Neusoft received 80 percent of its outsourcing revenue from Japanese companies, while Japan was the leading designer of embedded software in the world.

China's software outsourcing industry is expected by analysts to grow 40-45 percent annually for the foreseeable future, but is a decade behind India's giants such as Tata and Infosys.
