Madagascar hopes to boost economic link with China

Madagascan Prime Minister Charles Rabemananjara expressed his hope on Wednesday that economic cooperation between the island country and China will set an example for cooperation between developing countries.

During a meeting with the visiting Vice President of China Export and Import Bank Li Jun, the prime minister said that cooperation between the two countries was satisfactory.

Li, who arrived in Madagascan capital Antananarivo early on Wednesday, told Rabemananjara that he totally agreed with his assessment of the current Sino- Madagascan relation and that the Export and Import Bank of China was ready to assist the Indian Ocean island country to reach the targets in the five-year plan from 2007 to 2012.

Li also met Madagascan Minister of Finance and Budget Haja Nirina Razafinjatovo and Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Ivohasina Razafimahefa.
