2025 World Physical Education Alliance Conference concludes in Egypt
The 2025 World Physical Education Alliance Conference, where more than 500 experts and scholars from nearly 20 countries and regions gathered to discuss the future of global sports education, concluded in Cairo, Egypt, on Saturday.
In his video address, Dai Liyi, vice-president of Shanghai-based East China Normal University, which hosted the conference, said that the alliance, which was established in 2023 with a mission to promote dialogue and communication between civilizations, is evolving from a Chinese initiative to a platform of global sharing.
Fathi Nada, president of the Egyptian national sports federation, highlighted that the five-day event provided Egypt with an international perspective on sports education and offered a valuable opportunity for higher-level cultural cooperation between China and Egypt. He expressed hope that the conference would serve as a new starting point to promote broader and deeper development of sports education in the Middle East, Africa, and around the world.
During the academic sessions of the event, experts and scholars from 14 countries, including the United States, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Turkiye, and Malaysia, engaged in discussions on various topics, such as the inheritance of traditional sports culture, sports education for special groups, and the development of inclusive sports. Several scholars presented local practice cases, showcasing unique development paths for sports education in different cultural contexts.
