Canton Fair's second phase sets attendance record

The second phase of the 137th China Import and Export Fair, popularly known as the Canton Fair, concluded on Sunday with a record attendance of international buyers, the event's organizers said.
As of Sunday, a record-high of 224,372 international buyers from 219 countries and regions have attended the fair's past two phases.
The fair is considered a barometer of China's foreign trade. It is held twice a year in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province, in spring and autumn. Each session includes three phases covering almost all categories of industrial and consumer products.
The recent second phase showcased a diverse range of products, meeting the comprehensive purchasing needs of home goods buyers through a one-stop shopping experience, the organizers said.
With a theme of building a better life, the third phase of the fair's spring session will take place from May 1 to 5, featuring five sectors covering toys, maternity and baby products, fashion, household textiles, stationery, and health & leisure.
There will be 12,043 companies participating in the third phase, with 284 import exhibitors from 30 countries and regions.
