Ten entrepreneurs from the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions have won the EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2023 awards for their remarkable efforts in promoting sustainable development and outstanding contributions to the high-quality development of the Chinese economy.

The winners come from various industries, including manufacturing, consumer goods, science and technology, pharmaceuticals and life sciences. Among them, the manufacturing industry has seen four award-winning entrepreneurs, the largest number in all fields, demonstrating a rise and resilient growth in China's manufacturing industry on the journey toward world-class performance, according to global accounting firm Ernst & Young, organizer of the awards.

With the theme of "Embracing integration to create opportunities; joining hands to shape the future", this year's awards, which were unveiled on Tuesday, aim to identify entrepreneurs who contribute efforts in supporting high-quality economic development in line with opening-up and cooperation principles, the organizer said.

It also serves as a platform to promote exchanges and cooperation among entrepreneurs from the Chinese mainland and the two SARs of Hong Kong and Macao to gather their strength and wisdom for the advancement of Chinese modernization, it added.

"The award-winning entrepreneurs adhere to their trades, strive for innovation, and respond to the uncertainties of the global economy with innovative and professional expertise. They are the driving force behind Chinese modernization," EY China Chairman and EY Greater China Regional Managing Partner Jack Chan said.

"They focus on the long-term value growth strategy of their enterprises and actively lead the sustainable development of industries by putting ESG principles into practice."

The EOY Awards, one of the world's most prestigious business awards for entrepreneurs, have been held in China for 18 years.
