Former Shaanxi official expelled from Party over serious violations
Li Jinzhu, former vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the Shaanxi Provincial People's Congress, has been expelled from the Party and is under investigation for serious violations of Party discipline and the law, according to a statement released by China's top anti-graft watchdogs on Thursday.
The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China and the National Supervisory Commission revealed that Li's case, including illicit gains, has been handed over to procuratorial organs for examination and prosecution.
Li is accused of abandoning his political responsibilities, going against major decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee, and engaging in improper activities that polluted the political environment. He accepted banquets in violation of regulations and utilized his positions to assist others in appointments, promotions, business operations, and project acquisition, receiving illicit gains in return.
Additionally, Li engaged in unauthorized business ventures, interfered in market economic activities, and influenced the allocation of public financial funds. The statement emphasized the severe disciplinary measures due to the negative impact of Li's actions on the political environment and the workplace.
Li Jinzhu, 68, a native of Hebei province, had a long-standing career in the coal-related industry and held various significant positions in Shaanxi province. He joined the Party in 1976 and was placed under investigation in May 2023.
