The Xiamen portion of the ninth Meisha Education National Youth Sailing League came to an end on Sunday at Meifeng Park Square. The four-day competition saw fierce contests in 15 categories.
The event attracted 355 young sailors. Sun Chengze, a 13-year-old sailor from the Shenzhen Blue Sail Sailing Club, has been sailing for three years. "The first capsize was the most unforgettable experience," Sun said. "I can see my own growth, from being terrified of the sea and refusing to board the boat to now hoping for stronger winds."
