People may expect to travel between Shanghai and downtown Suzhou by subway in June, when a new line in Suzhou opens.

The new route, Line 11, starts from Weiting Station at the Suzhou Industrial Park and ends at Huaqiao Station in Suzhou's county-level city, Kunshan, where travelers can transfer to Shanghai's Subway Line 11.

Suzhou's Subway Line 11, whose total length is 41.25 kilometers, has 28 stations and a designed speed of 100 km/h. On Wednesday it launched no-load trial run, which will last for three months.

The trip from Weiting Station to Huaqiao Station will take just 53 minutes.
