Urban landscape in district of Beijing set for Games

The urban landscape is ready for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, local authorities said recently.
In Beijing's Haidian district, the landscape design features scientific lighting rhythms and pine trees covered in snow in areas around the Wukesong Sports Center, Zhongguancun Square and Capital Indoor Stadium.
Qinghe Railway Station on the Beijing-Zhangjiakou high-speed railway, has assigned 798 staff members to ensure the smooth and safe operation of the station.
Li Xuehua, deputy director of the Urban Management Commission in the district, said an area of about 3.4 square kilometers has been reconfigured as a peripheral safeguard service region, to guarantee timely communication with the "closed-loop" for the Winter Games.
"We paid particular attention to the safe and orderly management of the closed-loop to make sure a problem can be quickly resolved within an hour if it arises," he said.
