Airlines, railway operators and online travel platforms have launched special services to help passengers cancel trips or change their tickets during the torrential rains in Zhengzhou, Central China's Henan province.

Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport is no longer accepting inbound flights from 20:00 on Tuesday to noon on Wednesday due to heavy rain. Airlines including China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines and West Air announced eligible customers can apply for refunds or reschedule their trips for free.

Railway passengers affected can apply for a full refund, online or offline, within 30 days, the China Railway Zhengzhou Bureau Group said, according to news portal Jiemian on Wednesday.

In addition, many online travel platforms have launched free refund and change services for hotels, scenic spots and transportation in Zhengzhou or other disaster-stricken areas in Henan province. Online travel services providers, including Tongcheng-Elong, Trip.com, Qunar, Tujia and Fliggy announced ticket refund and rescheduling policies for affected customers.
