Construction kicks off on Sino-Russian gas chemical plant

The Amur gas chemical complex, an integrated polyethylene and polypropylene production complex jointly developed by China Petroleum and Chemical Corpand Russian petrochemical company Sibur, kicked off construction on Thursday.

The plant, the largest chemical cooperation project between China and Russia, has a designed capacity of 2.3 million tons/year polyethylene and 400,000 tons/year polypropylene. It is expected to put into operation in 2025, with most of its products sending to the Chinese market.
