Chinese smartphone manufacturer Nubia Technology Co Ltd unveiled its first 5G-powered gamer-focused phone, Red Magic 5G, on Thursday, in a bid to grab a bigger slice of the gaming smartphone market.

The phone includes a 6.65-inch active matrix/organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED) display with a whopping 144 hertz refresh rate and support for superfast 5G connectivity, bringing the smoothest and fastest speed experience for game players.

Under the hood, the gadget comes with the latest Snapdragon 865 chipset from Qualcomm for a higher-quality gaming experience, and a built-in fan with an updated liquid cooling solution to keep the temperature low while gaming.

It also features a 4,500 mAh battery with 55 watt air-cooled turbo-fast charging that takes only 40 minutes to completely charge the phone, an in-display fingerprint sensor as well as a triple-rear camera setup with a 64 megapixel Sony sensor. It is priced at 3,799 yuan ($541) for the 8 gigabytes of RAM plus 128 GB storage version.

According to market research firm NewZoo, mobile gaming will generate revenues of $95.4 billion in 2022 and account for almost half of the entire gaming market. This will be driven predominantly by smartphones, with revenues of $79.7 billion by 2022. Moreover, the growth in mobile game revenues will continue to outpace growth in PCs in the coming years, resulting in a shrinking PC market share toward 2022.
