Iron ore futures open higher

DALIAN -- Iron ore futures opened higher Friday in daytime trading on the Dalian Commodity Exchange (DCE).

The most active iron ore contract for May 2020 delivery gained 3 yuan (about 43 US cents) to open at 638 yuan per metric ton.

As the world's largest importer of iron ore, China opened the DCE iron ore futures to international investors in May 2018.
