Herbalife Nutrition, the United States-based nutrition product manufacturer, released its 2018-2019 Corporate Social Responsibility Report in Beijing on Tuesday to fulfill its social responsibility and promote sustainable development in China.

"Being a good corporate citizen is a key component of Herbalife Nutrition's corporate values, and so we are very proud of our efforts to engage with local communities in over 90 countries and regions to actively address public health issues such as hunger and obesity," said Alan Hoffman, executive vice-president of global corporate affairs at Herbalife Nutrition.

The company announced last year that it would invest 700 million yuan ($98.84 million) to establish its China Growth and Impact Investment Program to promote product, technology and business innovation and facilitate the foundation of a healthy lifestyle in society.

Cao Hongying, executive vice-president of the China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment, pointed out that the release of the report has provided a role model for foreign-funded enterprises to fulfill social responsibility and continually carry out communication with stakeholders in China.

"Only when a company makes its corporate social responsibility accomplishments public periodically can it strengthen communication between the interested parties and gain their recognition, support as well as trust," he added.

Dong Ruiping, vice-president of external affairs of Herbalife Nutrition China, said that the firm will continue to respond to national policy and development guidelines in the future to help improve national nutrition and health.
