International cross-country run held in Gansu

More than 600 runners from home and abroad competed in an international cross-country run held in Yumen, Gansu province, on September 7.

The event was hosted by the Yumen government and was part of the Skyrunner World Series organized by the International Skyrunning Federation.

The run featured a 25 kilometer and a 60 km category this year.

As part of the races, participants ran across the distinctive Danxia landform, the Gobi Desert, mountains, valleys and craters in Northwest China.

Chinese contestants stood out in the races and swept gold medals in the men's and women's 25km and 60 km categories.
