In the Wenzhou airport, 164 flights were canceled by noon Friday; all ferry services to tourist attractions were also suspended in the province, according to Zhejiang authorities.

"The wind is getting increasingly stronger, and all passing vehicles have to drive at a speed of 30 km or lower per hour," Zhang Yu, a traffic policeman from the province's Taizhou, said on Friday afternoon.
