Intl Children's Day gala celebrates youthful joy
The China Media Group will hold an International Children's Day gala, bringing together a medley of cultural and artistic performances at 8 pm on June 1.
The celebration, which includes singing, dance, opera, acrobatics and kung fu shows, will be broadcast through all CMG platforms reaching audiences across the world.
2019 marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 70th birthday of China's youth organization for children – the Young Pioneers of China. To commemorate this special occasion, children will be introduced to the rich history of China and Chinese culture through storytelling plays and stage performances.
As an annual event over the past three decades, the gala reflects the hope and joy of Chinese youth for many generations. "The theme of 2019 is Happily Into the Future," said Xu Beibei, chief director of the evening gala. "We hope to create some joyful childhood memories for the kids."
