The opening show of the 13th Hopla! circus festival held in Brussels on Monday was not held in a giant marquee, but on the actual streets of the Belgian capital.
In part of the show, acrobats performed a mission on a ladder, while pretending to be continually distracted by their on-looking audience down below.
In their "spider-man" roles, they climbed walls, and jumped up and onto buildings along the street, while displaying their acrobatic skills, including handstands and aerial tumbles.
In order to watch the whole performance that blended acrobatic circus skills with urban sports feats, spectators had to follow the route of the acrobats. At some points, they ran alongside and interacted with the acrobats.
