South and Southeast Asia Commodity Expo and Investment Fair launches in Beijing

The launch event for the 2019 South and Southeast Asia Commodity Expo and Investment Fair (SSACEIF) and the second China-South Asia Cooperation Forum was held in Beijing on Feb 28.

Officials, business representatives and entrepreneurs attended the meeting, where diplomatic envoys from countries south and southeast to China outlined achievements gained through partnership with Yunnan province, along with their expectations for SSACEIF 2019.

Yunnan vice-governor Zhang Guohua said that the province considers the South Exposition and the Consultative Conference important events, and will ensure both are integrated into the national development strategy.

He further said that the province will spare no effort in all preparatory work, and will strive to ensure 2019 SSACEIF is an open, cooperative, innovative and win-win event.

SSACEIF, themed "gathering on the frontier of opening-up, jointly building a radiation center and sharing prosperity and development", will be held from June 12 to 18 at the Dianchi International Convention and Exhibition Center in Kunming, capital of Yunnan province.

It will feature 17 pavilions covering an area of approximately 170,000 square meters and offering a range of activities and content.

SSACEIF will help participating countries develop economically, promote investment and consumption, as well as create demand and employment.

It will enable the countries along the Belt and Road to achieve common development and shared growth through joint consultation.
