Chinese artist Meng Liping shows an obsession with the line in her several series of paintings.
She explores the possibilities of the line as a basic component of painting by outlining various shapes on different types of paper. She uses pen, black and color pencils and carbon pens to present the flowbility and complexity of the line. The intricate details in her works reveal a feminine sensibility.
Valley, Lattice and Detector, Meng's solo exhibition now on at Beijing's Ici Labas gallery through March 9, brings together 40 paintings she produced between 2008 and 2015.
