Her brushwork had rendered the line a strong feeling of rhythm. In some paintings, the lines extend out in a comfortable manner to remind the audience of a peaceful horizon one would see at the seaside; in other works, the lines circle and layer to reveal the rise and fall in one's emotion.
Meng also revisits the motifs of classic landscapes and crossed lines. She juxtaposes them in one painting to examine the Eastern and Western cultural traditions. Two of her such paintings are in the collection of British Museum in London.
