An ongoing exhibition at the Capital Museum in Beijing showcases a fine collection of art and handicrafts from the National Museum in Wrocław, Poland, through March 24, taking visitors down the memory lane to the glorious Baroque period.

Exhibition Silesia Rediviva: The Baroque period in Silesia - Collection of Art and Handicrafts from the National Museum in Wrocław, Poland, features nearly 80 exhibits created in the second half of the 17th century, a period during which Silesia made a great effort at rebuilding its artistic potential.

Silesia is a historical region of Central Europe located mostly in what is now the southwestern part of Poland, with small parts in the Czech Republic and Germany. Silesia endured being a battlefield for forces fighting against each other over its rich natural resources. Nevertheless, the wars and changes of regimes benefited Silesia to celebrate multinational exchanges and integration on cultures and arts.

The exhibition is presenting historical artifacts from the Baroque Silesia to help visitors to appreciate both the common life of people there and the creativity of artists back then.
