Industrial internet seen as being the key to Midea's business strategy

Company pledges support for education, healthcare
Midea Group, a leading home appliances maker based in Foshan, Guangdong province, has not only devoted itself to optimizing business models, but has also committed to creating a better life through partnerships with local governments and communities.
Because of the strategic importance of education and healthcare to the sustainable development of any region, Midea has made these two sectors its priorities, hoping to benefit more communities through its long-term philanthropic actions.
As the company celebrated the 50th anniversary of its founding on Friday, Midea announced a donation of 100 million yuan ($14.42 million) with the purpose of helping achieve the 2020 poverty alleviation goal by developing local medical, educational and industrial infrastructure with the government.
The company will also donate 16.7 million yuan to Huanglong village in the Beijiao township in Shunde, Foshan, for a partnership program with the local community to enhance grassroots governance and rural revitalization.
The company also plans to hire staff and add innovative resources to help the village upgrade its industrial facilities.
Over the last two decades, He Xiangjian, founder of Midea, and the company together have contributed more than 7 billion yuan in philanthropic aid for poverty alleviation, disaster relief, elderly care and education, according to the company.
