Chinese music includes enchanting sounds made by silk strings of zithers and bamboo hollows of flutes.
The Equator 2012 series continues with renowned string and wind Chinese ensemble Silk and Bamboo (sizhu). Pipa (four-stringed lute) and guqin (seven-stringed zither) virtuoso player Cheng Yu leads the group with other UK-based musicians originally from China on the erhu (two-stringed fiddle), yangqin (hammered dulcimer), guzheng (zither) and dizi (bamboo flute).
