PARIS -- Britain's new Prime Minister David Cameron was expected in Paris for a meeting with French President Nicolas Sarkozy this Thursday, the Elysee Palace said on Tuesday in a statement.
"The President of the Republic (Sarkozy) will meet Mr. David Cameron, the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, at 19:30 Thursday of May 20, 2010, for a working dinner," the statement said.
Sarkozy said the working dinner was "under the demand" of Cameron, who proposed the gathering in a telephone conversation between the two, according to local media reports.
Earlier, the president's office has announced that Sarkozy has scheduled an official visit to London on June 18.
