Pakistani ambassador injured in Tehran attack

TEHRAN -- The Pakistani ambassador in Iran was injured and two of his companions killed, when his car was attacked in Tehran Tuesday, Fars news agency reported.

Fars news agency quoted Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast as saying Mohammad Bakhsh Abbasim, the Pakistani ambassador to Iran, was taken to hospital after the attack.

"The Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the attack. A person behind the attack was arrested," Fars news agency said, without giving further information.

There was no report on the nationalities of his companions.
