Brazilian president extends greetings for Chinese New Year

BRASILIA: Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on Tuesday extended greetings for the Chinese lunar New Year.
"Since the celebration of the traditional Chinese New Year is approaching, I would like to offer to all residents of Chinese origin ... my most sincere greetings for happiness, prosperity and peace," said Lula in a message.
He also offered his greetings to Chinese people and government. "I wish that friendship and fraternity ties that unite Brazilian and Chinese peoples may, in this New Year, deepen even more, with active political, economic, cultural and social exchanges," Lula added.
