NEW DELHI - Fifteen people were killed in two separate road accidents in India on Tuesday.
Ten members of a family, including seven women and children, were killed when the car they were traveling in fell into a canal at Ramdas village in Ajnala sector of Amritsar district in the north Indian state of Punjab, 450 km from here, police said.
The victims, returning from a marriage function, were heading towards Ramdas railway station when mishap struck.
Earlier in the day, five people, including four students, were killed and six others injured when their auto-rickshaw collided with a bus in Medak district in the south Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, around 1,500 km from here, police said.
Ten students of Acharya Degree College at Zaheerabad in Medak had hired the ill-fated vehicle after visiting a temple at Jharasangam while they were on a picnic.
