SEOUL -- A pair of short-range missiles fired by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) was detected on the east coast of the Korean Peninsula on Tuesday, South Korea' s Yonhap News Agency reported.

The DPRK fired two short-range missiles to the East Sea from a site near Hamheung in the Southern Hamkyong Province, Yonhap said, citing its source in the South Korean government.

"South Korea's information agency is now working on to analyze the DPRK's underlying intentions," Yonhap added.
