BAGHDAD -- Two people were killed and five others injured in two separate roadside bomb attacks in Baghdad, an Interior Ministry source said on Thursday.

"A roadside bomb struck on Thursday morning a police patrol in the Zaafaraniya neighborhood in southeastern Baghdad, killing a policeman and wounding five people," the source said on condition of anonymity.

Two policemen were among the wounded people, the source said, adding that a police vehicle was also damaged by the attack.

Late Wednesday, a roadside bomb detonated at the entrance of the building of the Iraqi Asiacell telecommunication Company in Baghdad's western district of Mansour, killing an employee, the source said.

The blast also damaged several nearby civilian cars, he added.

Violence has dropped to a four-year low in Iraq, while sporadic roadside bombs, car bombings and suicide attacks are still haunting the Iraqis.
