The "Pioneering Arts Education Month" event series kicked off on July 6 on Zhongshan Road in Siming district, Xiamen. Through markets, performances, and exhibitions, the activities showcased the historical and cultural charm of this century-old street.
The opening ceremony commenced with a youth arts education achievement showcase. The audience was treated to a vibrant performance featuring harmonica ensembles, violin orchestrations, martial arts displays, and more — as young students presented a dynamic fusion of diverse artistic expressions.
The event also featured a cultural and creative works exhibition, showcasing outstanding pieces by young creators from Siming district. Through diverse art forms such as seal engraving and painting, the exhibition vividly showcased Xiamen's urban spirit and culture.
These works brought history to life through innovative design, seamlessly integrating ideological education into daily life and resonating deeply with the public.
Additionally, multiple stakeholders including neighborhood schools, disability assistance centers, the Zhongshan Road Business Alliance, and the Landlords Association jointly launched a charity bazaar. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to disability aid organizations, disadvantaged groups in the district, and the Siming Charity Federation.
The event series, running from July to August, will feature nearly 20 activities including exhibitions, performances, and cultural innovation workshops tailored for primary and secondary students and young people.
