2015 China-Arab States Green Expo opens in Yinchuan

The two-day China-Arab States Green Expo got off to a good start at the Green Garden, in the city of Yinchuan, Ningxia Hui autonomous region on Sept 11, the first time for it in this part of China, bringing greater opportunities for communication with the outside world in green-related technologies, ideas and achievements.

This year’s theme was greening along the Silk Road Economic Belt and it offered a large display of ecology and culture in China and Arab nations, with the guest country of honor being Jordan. There were more than 10 gardens representing the cities of Beijing, Tianjin, Chongqing, Wuhan in Hubei province, Shenyang in Liaoning province, Xi’an in Shaanxi, Zhengzhou in Henan, Xining in Qinghai, Nanning in Guangxi, Changzhou in Jiangshu and the Alashan League in Inner Mongolia.

All the gardens and exhibition halls will remain open to the public as a leisure park after the expo and the site will be the main venue of the 9th China Flower Expo, in Yinchuan in 2017. The Green Garden layout has two axes, two pavilions, three ring roads, four islands and some smaller gardens, with good views and exercise facilities.

Explaining the garden project to the gathering was Xu Rongmao, of the CPPCC Economic Affairs Committee, and vice-president of the China Overseas Chinese Entrepreneurs Association and chairman of the Shimao Group, while Xu Guangguo, Yinchuan Party chief and a member of the Ningxia Party Standing Committee and Jordan's ambassador to China, Yahya Qaralleh. Taking part in the ceremony was ZhangYongli, deputy head of the State Forestry Administration.
