Xi’an locals get warm porridge in cold winter

Many temples in Xi'an, Shaanxi province in Northwest China, gave out free Laba porridge on Jan 27, to celebrate the traditional Laba Festival, xinhuanet.com reported.

Laba Festival is the eighth day of the 12th lunar month, on which Chinese people have a tradition of eating Laba porridge that is mainly made from rice, beans, dried fruit, tofu, potato, meat and vegetables, for they believe this can bring them good luck, safety and health.
