From June 15 to 18, 2012, the 10th China International Software and Information Service Fair (CISIS) will be held in Dalian, northeast China's Liaoning province.

After ten years of exploration and expansion, CISIS has developed itself into a major channel for the Chinese software industry to merge into the world software industrial chain. It has become an important platform to enhance cooperation and exchange among domestic and international counterparts. It also promotes rapid growth of the Chinese software industry.

Hideichi Okada, vice-minister for international affairs, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, said that, "As the only state-level software fair in China, CISIS has won high reputation among Chinese and Japanese governments and companies. China is the biggest offshore outsourcing destination for Japanese software development companies, and with the increase of trade volume between Japan and Dalian, Japan hopes CISIS will play a greater role in improving cooperation between the two countries." Over the years, the CISIS has set up an exchange platform for software outsourcing companies over the country. It supplies a great number of business opportunities for IT suppliers and customers. In addition, the fair has also accelerated the boom of Dalian’s service outsourcing businesses.

In its preparation stage, the 10th CISIS actively promoted project matching by inviting more overseas customers to participate in the event. According to the organizing committee, companies from the United States, Japan, India, Singapore, South Korea and Canada have confirmed project matching conferences during the fair. More than 30 provinces and cities across the country will hold over 100 financing projects at the fair.

The past decade saw the establishment of the industrial clusters consisting of the world top 500 multinational companies, big Chinese companies, and multiple local companies in Dalian. The city has been named by the central government among the first batch of cities as a "Service Outsourcing Export Base", "National Innovation Software Industrial Cluster", and China's only "Internationalized Demonstration City for Software Industry".

The city now has more than 1,000 software companies with over 100,000 employees. During the past ten years, the software industrial revenue has maintained an average annual growth of over 50 percent. Its income soared 50 times and the export surged 45 times.

CISIS has played a crucial role in promoting international cooperation in the IT sector and in facilitating the development of a software industry in Dalian.
