Comment on "Cameron pledges 'all-out war' on street gangs" (China Daily, Aug 16)

I don't think it was appropriate for British Prime Minister David Cameron to use the term "all-out-war" in his speech. Does it mean the British government will wage war against the low-income and hopeless group of people?

To be a positive and constructive leader, Cameron should take more measures to get things in order. The British authorities should first find out the hidden social causes that led to the riots, and then take action to bridge the income gap between the rich and the poor.

The British government should adjust its laws and regulations, and make policies help the low-income group. It's not wise to ignore the demands of the majority of the population, because they are the major players who ultimately make society tick.
