The Shenwan Hongyuan Group Co was listed by Fortune magazine on July 13 as one of China's top 500 enterprises of 2016.

Fortune is published by Time Warner Inc, an US media giant. It has been an important reference in economic circles since it first listed the Fortune Global 500.

Another five companies from Xinjiang, Tebian Electric Apparatus Stock Co, Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology Co, Xinjiang Zhongtai Chemical Co, COFCO Xinjiang Tunhe Co and Xinjiang Bayi Iron and Steel Co, were included in the list.

Shenwan Hongyuan Group was settled in the Urumqi State High-tech Industrial Zone on January 21 and went public on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange on January 26. It is now the biggest market-oriented M&A participant. The company has provided all-around financial services in financing, investment, trade, consultation and wealth management to a great number of Xinjiang's companies and investors since its arrival.

It is contributing to the zone's goal to be the "financial, capital and new fortune center" of central, western, and southern Asia. The zone's progress as a financial center has outpaced Urumqi's and Xinjiang's.
