Huocheng county in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region held a briefing session for a Yuronggang Industry Park project on April 29.

Attendees of the session included Tian Hong, vice Party chief of the Ili Kazak autonomous prefecture, and Ge Guo, the Party chief of Huocheng county.

Ge Guo, who hosted the session, said that the construction of the industrial park is expected to be completed by 2020. The park will cover 600 hectares of land and will have a budget of 9.8 billion yuan ($1.68 billion).

The park is composed of several manufacturing centers, such as centers of the minerals logistics, building materials production, automobile accessories and steel trading. The products will be exported to Central Asian, European and American markets, especially to the countries such as Russia and Kazakhstan.

Ge reported that once fully operational, the park is expected to making 85 billion yuan in annual output value and pay 3 billion yuan in tax. More than 5,000 jobs will be created.

Tian Hong pointed out that the industrial park will drive the development of Huocheng’s society and economy and that great attention needs to be paid to the project to ensure its completion.

The Huocheng county government signed agreements on constructing Yuronggang Industrial Park with Jiangsu Shagang Group - a private steel enterprise headquartered in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu province - in December 2013. The park is the second largest industrial project in Huocheng after the coal gasification project invested by China Light and Power Co (CLP) - a power utility headquartered in Hong Kong.
