Tai'an sees steady growth in industrial production in Jan-May

Tai'an in Shandong province has seen steady growth in its industrial production from January to May, as the city's COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control measures have taken effect and have been consolidated.

The city's added value of industries above designated scale increased by 19.1 percent year-on-year, 1.7 points higher than the provincial average, ranking fourth in the province.

The city's high-tech industries also developed rapidly during this period. The added value of the city's equipment manufacturing industry increased by 25.8 percent year-on-year. For traditional industries, the added value of the ferrous metal smelting and rolling processing industry increased by 51 percent year-on-year.

For further development, the city will accelerate the upgrading of technologies and foster the development of smart industries. Local authorities will increase investment in attracting high-end talents and R&D for enterprises.

The city will also release supporting measures to help promote the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as to create a favorable business environment.
